you should send a mail to fluke (google-desktop's maintainer) and ask him to update or to orphan the package. if he'll not reply to you or if he'll not update the package you can ask again in aur-general to orphan the google-desktop package, so you can adopt and update the package and google-desktop-1.2 will be dropped. uhm...fluke is an inactive user, so I orphaned his packages. you can adopt google-desktop now.
ok, now pls remove google-desktop-1.2 (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=24040) as unnecessary -- -. .. -.-. -.- ..-. ----- -..-
