No idea where you got that idea. The v should *not* be there.
Lots of AUR packagers do it, so I assumed it was conventional by that, but I guess this is just a common misconception and a trap I have fallen into too, I will fix this in the next commit, sorry for my stupid mistake.
Except MIT is *not* a generic license. See the PKGBUILD wiki page again.
