To the aur general list,

to confirm Pellegrino Prevete's statements, I built the sushi-git
PKGBUILD as of commit 6ec6fd1ff4f873c6e3a16d5cb90c5d01448b032b. This
was Prevete's last commit before losing control, and it happened June
18, two months after Prevete was notified of the dependency issue by
xiota: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/sushi-git?O=10#comment-909320

The build failed in a clean chroot as xiota reported. Likewise,
replacing the webkit2gtk dependency with webkit2gtk-4.1, as xiota
suggested, fixed the build error.
Yes, my point is not that the package was working, but that I was actively working on the package while the request was accepted and it was given to someone whose previous reaction was unbelievable.

I don't have any special standing in this community, but for this
reason, I would be opposed to making Prevete a trusted user,
especially if they are specifically seeking power to settle a grudge
against xiota.

Oh no, I want it just to say formally what it is now only informal, and to be able to streamline procedures to minimize attrition.
I am sorry you are part of the crowd which fills lack of information with assumptions.

On a more positive note, I would like to say thanks in general for how
good the devtools package is. I've been hacking together clean-builds
on my own with booting into another partition, and I'm just blown away
at how easy-to-use devtools is. Cheers to Polyak et al.

Regrettably,
Mark Peschel
