Does anybody have a copy of gcc-4.2.3-*-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz lying in its cache? I guess I'd need the corresponding gcc-libs too. That'd be a great help (well, I hope!)
Have you read this thread: http://archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2008-March/005175.html
It might contain a fix (depending on your problem) else post the error message if possible..
For old versions of gcc: ftp://ftp.belnet.be/mirror/archlinux.org/core/os/x86_64/
Many of my packages have needed either "#include <string.h>" or "#include <stdlib.h>" to work. I haven't come across any other header files that no longer get included.

Thanks for the link! I tried half a dozen mirrors yesterday but they were all up-to-date. I'll try to recompile tonight. Otherwise I'll probably have to fix the headers following Jan's posting to arch-devel-public, which will no doubt be useful in the future. F
