I still don't see anything related.
/etc/makepkg.conf.pacnew:CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" We switched to x86_64-pc-linux-gnu when gcc 6 stopped accepting unknown. check arch-dev-public mailinglist archives of may 2016
