There have always be discussions about adding a package hat already has a counterpart in some official repo. Normally such packages should not go to AUR and will be deleted. On the other hand we have mplayer-nogui or such things. Maybe this package is another example from that rule. Just to spread the info, the rule is that you can't upload a version of a repo package unless something is changed. Different configure options, patches, etc, are fine. The rule is in place because people sometimes want to upload version bump packages, which they shouldn't
