you should get the out-of-date notifications for packages you've adopted in your own mailbox. Those are not send to the mailing list.

Just tested by flagging a package out-of-date, nobody@a.o mailed directly to my Inbox. I never noticed that all the out-of-date notifications in arch-notifications are for orphaned packages. Abhishek

Last time I checked, they only went to arch-notifications if the package is orphaned. Did that change?

Nope. You get notifications sent to you if you have adopted them via the dashboard (https://dev.archlinux.org/devel)
