The strange thing is that both packages had the same maintainer.

There was a difference in the sound files in both packages, that's why I left them both in AUR. The difference was explained in the comments on the deleted package page.

Indeed, but there was no effective difference for users except that it was rather confusing to have both packages at the same time.
