Yep, in theory, we can do it. But you must upload a package with correct name first. And anyway package names with capital letters are not recommended. So, the current package name is good and I really don't think that renaming is necessary. -- С уважением, Е.Алексеев. I don't know why you want to use capital letters everywhere. The description is grating enough without $pkgname doing it too. About using pacman 4.1 VCS template (i.e. put the git repo URL in the sources array, write a pkgver function, and don't manually clone/make a build directory): The fact is that I don't want to download the whole repo (which contains other branches). Please look at my earlier post on the forrum https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=174122 If there is anyway to clone a single branch as you recommned, it would be very nice, but it seems that there is no way to do that. There is one other branch, so what? Unless you're talking about more than 100MB, I would say just clone the whole thing and be done with it. You only have to do it once.
You might want to read this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pkgbuild#pkgname "All letters should be lowercase..." ----------------------------------------

I do not think AUR allows to create packages with UpperCase letters.

Even if it should be allowed, nobody want's to keep in mind which package names are complete lower case and which package names are camel case. To make the usage of the package management for all of us users easy, please stay with lower case, even if camel case should be allowed. TIA ;) Ralf

Ok thanks guys. After I sent the rename request, I realized that the current lower case name is better. Thanks also for tips. I will revise the package soon. On Thu, Jan 30, 2014 at 1:52 AM, John D Jones III <unixgeek1972@gmail.com>wrote:
