[aur-general] Status of community cleanup 2010.
So, it has been quite a while since the community cleanup was started. There are *still* packages that have an incomplete status on the todo list. I propose that the following packages be moved to the aur to finish the community cleanup: miniracer x86_64 Community dgriffiths man-pages-pt_br x86_64 Community jlichtblau mt-daapd x86_64 Community orphan mdf2iso x86_64 Community dgriffiths pstreams x86_64 Community dgriffiths nrg2iso x86_64 Community dgriffiths pygoocanvas x86_64 Community orphan noyau x86_64 Community orphan man-pages-cs x86_64 Community jlichtblau premake x86_64 Community dgriffiths grub-gfx x86_64 Community qucs x86_64 Community spupykin emerald-themes x86_64 Community ronald magickthumbnail x86_64 Community orphan and also the i686 versions of them, ofc

We should keep the i18n-Stuff, that means the manpages. I can take them, if no-one objects. But I cannot say anything about their language related quality. man-pages-pt_br man-pages-cs Regards Stefan

I don't object, I guess you can adopt them.

I uploaded the brazilian version, but I know we have some czech-speaking TUs here, including the current maintainer of man-pages-cs, so i hope that someone will put more love into this PKGBUILD i can give. Regards Stefan

Busy, busy, busy, but finally I found some time to update the -cs one's. Thanks Stefan for the -pt-br. Cheers J -- Q: Why are babies born with soft spots on their heads? A: So you can pick 'em up five at a time.

Nonono, upstream seems dead, uses cvs and had its last release in 2005. Moooove it!

Good pkgstats usage. And this one looks like I've seen it as a makedep. Not sure and I can't check now (on someone else's machine; Win7/IE8 is choking on the pkgstats page):

This one works, and as far as I have seen it won't get any more releases, but it also will work indefinitely. The stable branch is long time dead, and svn seems too, but the svn head is very stable (been using it for a few months). The project has been renamed to Firefly (http://www.fireflymediaserver.org/), but the download page still points to the mt-daapd sourceforge tarballs. Conclusions: if anyone wants to adopt it, it seems to be in a good state and needs zero maintenance. After using it for a good while on my server, I'd also switch to the svn head (check mt-daapd-svn in the AUR for any differences). Otherwise, drop it! =) Corrado

Just rebuilt pstreams.. I think we should drop emerald-themes, I haven't followed compiz dev, but emerald-themes hasn't been updated since 2007 (or any new code in git since then)

Another reason to drop it (conversation in #compiz) 2010-09-01 18:03:30 coz_ td123, if you want more emerald themes you should probaby go to gnome-look.org and download them 2010-09-01 18:03:46 td123 coz_: I'm more interested in the status, I don't use it :) 2010-09-01 18:03:57 td123 coz_: why would anyone want to use it 2010-09-01 18:04:30 coz_ td123, :) well it does have a few nice options but it is essentially badly coded ... From a user's perspective, Emerald themes may be badly coded, but they're just so much NICER than gtk-window-decorator themes =).
Its going to be a moot point though, once compiz++ comes out. I've switched to gtk-window-decorator already since I've been testing that on and off. So yes, I use emerald-themes personally but based on various sources it IS deprecated.

Just adopted it on aur. And about man-pages-pt_br, whats is going to be done? Even not being the most recent or even the most complete, it's still useful for non-english speakers. -- ============================================== Ivan Sichmann Freitas Engenharia de Computação 2009 UNICAMP http://identi.ca/ivansichmann Grupo Pró Software Livre UNICAMP - GPSL ==============================================
