While the two packages may provide similar functionality, I don't see a reason to merge the two since I don't know either of them, but they look like different upstream. Anyway, I'm not going to do the merge if you don't contact the current maintainer, this also applies for the big python merge request. Regards, Felix Yan
They are the same upstream - `joystick` uses debian's downstream in packages dated 2005. joyutils uses the proper upstream. Regarding the big python merge request, I dealt near-exclusively with orphans in that request... J. Leclanche On Wed, Apr 30, 2014 at 3:18 AM, Felix Yan <felixonmars@gmail.com> wrote:

Hmm, I still don't think so. From the Debian package lookup, `joystick` has a newer version in debian sid, which seems to be the same upstream according to package description (not exact because there's no upstream link in the squeeze package). The new version is 1.4.7 and points to upstream url: https://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxconsole/ (Which has the exact same version 1.4.7 as latest version) While the joyutils package uses this url as upstream: http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~vojtech/joystick/ The latest version is 1.2.15. Not to mention that that page and the input driver it links to haven't been updated in 14 years. -- Sincerely, Johannes Löthberg PGP Key ID: 3A9D0BB5
I'm going to look into this with the author - hold the merge. J. Leclanche On Wed, Apr 30, 2014 at 12:16 PM, Johannes Löthberg <johannes@kyriasis.com> wrote:
