Really. Considering how much we've talked about using $pkgdir on this list it's crazy that people are still using $startdir/pkg. :P Btw, instead of deleting it, we could have asked him to include the proper commands to ssh into his home directory in the build function.
build() { cp -R /home/richard/devel/packages/usr $startdir/pkg } You really think this PKGBUILD needs repair? --- Lucas Saliés Brum http://sistematico.org lsbrum @ irc.freenode.org 2009/4/7 Xyne <xyne@archlinux.ca>

Well of course it does, clearly it something really wrong for a legitimate (I assume) package that users could want. Perhaps there really are people out there that want emesene-bugfix. Though I'm not really sure what bug this fixes. -AT On Wed, Apr 8, 2009 at 6:55 AM, Lucas Salies Brum <lucas@archlinux.com.br> wrote:

I'm not sure, but I think there was sarcasm in the Lucas' sentence.
This was not the purpose of my question, I just want to help, then I apologize. Remember, I'm from Brazil, many sentences are poorly translated by me! :] --- Lucas Saliés Brum http://sistematico.org lsbrum @ irc.freenode.org 2009/4/8 Arkham <liuju86@gmail.com>

if there is some bug that needs to be fixed the user should file a bug report and not randomly upload some package which already is there. Ronald

It was a joke. The first part was that the worst part of the PKGBUILD was using "$startdir/pkg" instead of "$pkgdir" instead of the blatantly ridiculous copying from the home directory. The second part was the suggestion of including ssh access to his computer in a public PKGBUILD. I had hoped that my ":P" would make the levity of my post clear. Xyne

Did someone actually try contacting the user through mail and tell him all this?
