Hi, I was pursuaded[1] to keep some unworthy packages in the AUR, and the thread was inconclusive (may be my final email was too long)... To summarise the contents of that thread: for a group of related packages, the stable versions are not likely to work for anyone and the VCS versions (*-bzr) are more sensible, but someone might adopt the stable ones, so we'll keep them lying around, at the risk of confusing users who install them by mistake to satisfy dependencies or the -bzr versions.
