Hello all, Unfortunately the AUR is down due to DDoS (again). It certainly seems to be more effective than the last round. FYI you can refer to the status link here for updates: https://status.archlinux.org/ Cheers, Sam On Monday, October 6th, 2025 at 13:53, Tomasz Niedzielski <ludvick0@gmail.com> wrote:

Does arch devops team know who is the culprit behind this attacks? -------- Original Message -------- On 06/10/25 9:39 am, Sam Sinclair <sam@playleft.com> wrote:

No idea but I hope they find out and have some way to spread out the traffic to stop DDOSing and have DDOS protection On 6/10/25 2:22 pm, Harsh Vyapari wrote:

I think, It's gonna take some time for devops team to pinpoint the culprit, but first they have to deal with this mess. - Harsh On Monday, October 6th, 2025 at 10:56 AM, Corey Bruce <cdfrosty@gmail.com> wrote:

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to implement anti-DDoS mechanisms instead of politely waiting for the attack to end? Bartosz On 10/6/25 07:26, Corey Bruce wrote:

Potentially, using things like Cloudflare might work. This was discussed during the last DDOS a couple months ago

Please use interleaved qouting. (instead of having the previus message at the bottum, only qoute the parts of the message that you're replying to and put the reply between parts of the qoute if you are replying to muliple things. See https://lore.kernel.org/git/771fc44e-32d4-4758-b497-bcef86433446@velocifyer.... for an example.)

Hi, Yes the AUR is down due to DDOS. We are working on restoring the service. Please refer to previous posts/news for alternatives and maybe workarounds. Thanks for your patience -- Leonidas Spyropoulos Developer & DevOps PGP: 59E43E106B247368 244740D17C7FD0EC

It appears to be back up for me, I was able to run an update just now This message was signed with my PGP key. If you want to encrypt your messages with me, I will provide my public key on request. My public key is also published on the MIT and Ubuntu keyservers.
