Hello, I assume this is the right mailing list for this kind of thing. I have an account with the AUR and a couple of packages. I'm attempting to update one of those packages and I am getting a permission denied error when trying to clone the git repository. Now, my SSH key has changed and I went ahead and updated my SSH public key in the account settings. But for some reason I still get a permission denied error. I am wondering if I am doing something wrong here, or if there is something an administrator needs to fix, or something else altogether. Hi Matt, Thank you for maintaining some AUR packages and helping the world out! On to the point: We do not believe this is an issue on the server side, as we can all seem to contact AUR with our account keys properly. But, we would like to solve this issue if possible. For some more personal and localized troubleshooting, could you possibly join us on IRC on the Libera chat server in channel #archlinux-aurweb? Could you possibly include the public key you are attempting to sign in with in a reply to this thread? Please ensure you do not share your private key involved. You can debug the connection fairly simply: instead of trying to git clone, try: ssh -v aur@aur.archlinux.org You will get a lot of debug info printed out, a successful connection should look something like this: ``` debug1: Offering public key: /home/eschwartz/.ssh/keys/aur RSA SHA256:3JKGjA8QHS9uXZ03uBm9YjjCxJVykNkmGGEp0/aqrHo explicit debug1: Server accepts key: /home/eschwartz/.ssh/keys/aur RSA SHA256:3JKGjA8QHS9uXZ03uBm9YjjCxJVykNkmGGEp0/aqrHo explicit debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). Well, as soon as I sent this I think I figured it out. There is an error message when updating the SSH key, but I don't see it because it's off screen. When I first select "update" after changing the key, the key looks like it has been changed. But if I come back to the page later, it's the old key again. I finally noticed the error message and it was asking for me to enter my password. After I did that it appears everything is working just fine. Thanks for taking a look into this! If you hadn't figured out the problem on your own, I was going to respond -- yeah, the public key you have in your account settings has a different fingerprint: RSA 4096 SHA256:MfAc/Q/F2r2ZUWuAYAJ5cAGotZSCvuYgzZJrWGYuqI8 Anyway, glad you figured it out. ;)

When I first select "update" after changing the key, the key looks like it has been changed. But if I come back to the page later, it's the old key again. I finally noticed the error message and it was asking for me to enter my password. After I did that it appears everything is working just fine.

Hmm, the error message should be at the top of the (reloaded) page. FWIW, on a successful account update you get taken to a new page, which just says: "The account, <your-account-name>, has been successfully modified." Yes, it was on top. But at least on my version of Chrome, the page reloads to the same position as before when clicking the "update" button, and doesn't reset to the top of the page. Because of that I didn't see the error message (which is actually quite small and hard to notice anyway).
