I lost my aur account password and the reset doesn't seems to work. Probably the registered email doesn't exist anymore (I've been away for a long time).
Could someone help me recovering the account?
my username is shypixie
Thanks
Hello,
I don't think TU's permit the recovery of accounts unless you can prove ownership of the account, and as you can't recover through email, it doesn't seem likely...
Maybe try recovering the account one more time before asking for TU support?
Sorry,

Yo,
You keep answering every email sent to this list which is not needed. Take two steps back, chill a little bit and observe a bit more. Enthusiasm is appreciated but this is becomming a bit noisy, and you have not been around long enough to understand how most of this work.
Hello,
Firstly we are now going off topic from helping someone to slating me for being active on the mailing list.
Furthermore, how do you know how long I have been around Arch Linux and the community, just because I didn't post doesn't mean I was not there in the background.
I have read a large amount of the ArchWiki, and recently have began to contribute a lot to it, so please don't undermine me.
As for the account, its not secure if the TU's restore the account without 100x confidence that it was theirs, otherwise I could spin up a random email address and try "recovering" accounts from others.
I am sure if the account name and the email address (the domain) are similar it would be obvious, but if not would TU's restore based on verifying their are the holder of the GPG key linked to the account?
Thanks,

I'm an AUR administrator, so I know.
Being around the community is also not the same as actively participating in it.

I don't think asking you to calm down is undermining you. Observing how a community functions is just as important as participating in one.

Yes, a GPG key is sufficient. Everyone has a SSH key associated with the account. This key can also be used to sign messages and prove ownership of the account.
We've also done this by having the user state private details of the account as well.
The point is that this is something for the TUs to handle, and we know very well how to deal with it.
Hello,
Does it really hurt for someone to be curious about a problem?
Thanks,

No, not at all.
But then I would expect questions towards the AUR administrator that would resolve the problem. You wrote an email with assumptions on how we operate to the person that wanted support.

Hi Lara,
Do you recall which email the account is using?
Alternatively, you can do one of the following;
Sign a message with the GnuPG key registered on the account. Fingerprint is 48F4 C8D8 CF52 1F4A 46E2 BA49 C879 9F9E A7AF 292D
Or you can sign a message with the ssh key you are using on the account. You can do this by doing
ssh-keygen -Y sign -f $sshkey -n file $file_to_sign
and attach it to an email in reply.
