i wasn't asking for any preemptive actions, it was more of an inquiry rather than a proposition, since i own most of these packages and was wondering whether i should keep maintaining them for the time being or just wait for them to be added to extra (they are currently in testing)

I'd say just leave them. That is what I am doing with vinagre which is also being moved to [extra] as part of gnome. Cheers, Allan
