[aur-general] [mcabber-hg] Disownment Request
To whom it may concern, I am requesting disownment of the mcabber-hg[1] AUR package so I may claim maintainership. I contacted the current maintainer two weeks ago[2] about merging in my PKGBUILD to improve functionality, but also to bring it up to the current PKGBUILD standards. I have not received a reply from the maintainer. One interesting thing to note is that the last updated date will change on a regular basis (usually around 23:00), but the PKGBUILD itself is unchanged. The PKGBUILD is actually useless by itself as it requires the user to manually fetch the sources before running makepkg -s. It adds in support for libotr4, version numbering from commits, adds in the source paramter for cloning, and I've split the build function into build and package functions. It worked fine on my machine and a friend's so it should be ready to roll. https://gist.github.com/tuftedocelot/8564092 Let me know what you think... Thanks, Lucas

Sounds like anti-mark-out-of-date bot. Nice one. There are several mcabber-module-* packages that are out of date, a TU should consider disowning them all as well. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?K=nixtrian&SeB=m -- Kind regards, Damian Nowak StratusHost www.AtlasHost.eu

I've disowned mcabber-hg and all ood modules (they were all flagged more than a year ago). Adopt away! Cheers, -- Maxime

Maxime, I think you should disown all non-ood mcabber-* too. See the "Last Updated" for a few. Should anyone mark a package out of date, it gets removed at 23:00. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mcabber-module-yaubil-hg/ https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mcabber-module-urlopen-hg/ https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mcabber-module-uptime-hg/ ... https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?K=nixtrian&SeB=m lua-lm-hg seems to be updated with a cron too. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/lua-lm-hg/ -- Kind regards, Damian Nowak StratusHost www.AtlasHost.eu

Fair enough, I didn't because they had been updated to use VCS sources in the source array. Upon closer look they don't have a package function and I saw a comment in one of them stating the source dling didn't work (didn't verify that), so I've disowned them as well. However, unless someone adopts them fast, nixtrian will most likely automatically adopt them all back once his script kicks in. Cheers, -- Maxime
