I don't understand why qgoogletranslate was removed. I was happily maintaining it. It still works fine. Even though "Google Translate API v1 is no longer available", "Google Translate API v2 is now available as a paid service only, and the number of requests your application can make per day is limited". Am I going to have to re-submit it? Jonathan

No, because nobody needs a broken package. It won't work. Period. -- Kwpolska <http://kwpolska.tk> stop html mail | always bottom-post www.asciiribbon.org | www.netmeister.org/news/learn2quote.html GPG KEY: 5EAAEA16 | Arch Linux x86_64, zsh, mutt, vim. # vim:set textwidth=70:

It does work; I'm using it now. Can someone put it back or should I re-submit it and have the votes/comments put back on it afterwards? Jonathan

You may use may last qgoogletranslate [1] and qgoogletranslate-svn [2] PKGBUILD's since i mainteined them untill i heard news about project suspending in may and disowned them. Yes, it still useable, but amount of queries to service per ip is limited and eventually service will be suspended. If you plan to use suspended project, you're welcome. By the way, author of qgoogletranslate started new project this summer. Yet, there are no releases. [1]: http://vpaste.net/hYNeL [2]: http://vpaste.net/ZVFgQ -- E-Mail : karnathtorjian@gmail.com

In general, how is it that a working, recently updated package which is owned by an active member gets removed without talking to the maintainer first? Surely that would be best practice. Even if it's future isn't so bright, if it works why not leave it? Jonathan
