[aur-general] python2.6 rebuilds
Hi TUs, I intend to move python-2.6 and the associated rebuilds this Saturday. This requires a few, but not all, packages requiring python to be rebuilt. It would be good if everyone could check their python based packages and be ready for this. Cheers, Allan

Can we meet on IRC this saturday ? many TUs aren't marked as inactive but they really are, the upgrade might break some packages and maybe are from them... Allan, if you have doubts about using IRC, i can give you a quick tutorial. See you on Saturday
Cheers, Allan

Can this problem occur in AUR packages ? I mean non "precompiled" ones, in unsupported ? Does this concerns all architectures ? Will there be a python25 package in case of incompatible package ? Cilyan 2008/10/30 Angel Velásquez <angvp@archlinux.com.ve>:

Some will likely need recompiled. There should be no need to have to have a python2.5 package and there is already a python24 package in the repos if you need it. Allan

Good job! FYI I will not be around on saturday and will only be able to fix my packages on sunday evening (European time). My python related packages are not really critical so it should not be a big deal (but don't hesitate to fix them if you have time ;-) ) Ronald ps. my packages according the wiki list: pressh * ccsm 0.7.8-1 * compizconfig-python 0.7.8-1 * python-sqlalchemy 0.4.6-1

Nice work. I started annotating the necessary rebuild (bold needs rebuilt and cross-out means no rebuild) but only got through my own packages so far... Allan

I will join the ride and take care of my packages. I have a lot of stuff waiting for the python release now ;-) -- Pierre Schmitz Clemens-August-Straße 76 53115 Bonn Telefon 0228 9716608 Mobil 0160 95269831 Jabber pierre@jabber.archlinux.de WWW http://www.archlinux.de
