[aur-general] disowning a couple of packages
Hi, I'm disowning sage-mathematics, sage-mathematics-spkgs(optdepends for sage-mathematics), fityk, and xylib(dependency for fityk). I will move them to the aur in a week if no TU adopts them in community. If you plan on adopting sage-mathematics, you should know that it is currently unbuildable on archlinux, and some other newer distros due to how it is built. It is currently out of date, and you wont be able to update it without fixing this. http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/10572 (13 month old bug without recent comments) http://trac.sagemath.org/sage_trac/ticket/11391 (9 month old bug I filed without a sign of activity) If you plan on adopting fityk, note that it needs a development version of wxwidgets which I statically build in the same PKGBUILD. Cheers.

I could build 4.8 succesfully (on x86_64) by commenting out the line "touch spkg/installed/ppl-0.11.2" in the PKGBUILD. I really hope someone can keep maintaining this in [community], it is a pain to build (took more than 3 hours and almost all free disk space here) and the binaries from www.sagemath.org are incompatible with Arch (the Fedora one gives a missing _md5 module, and the Ubuntu one simply segfaults).

The i686 build fails even with that option commented out. I think building on x86_64 still works. There is an online version of sage at http://www.sagenb.org/ Sorry, but I stand by my decision and will not be maintaining sage any longer.

I don't blame you at all, though this is a shame, since the idea of sage was so promising. Perhaps distros and others like us should be making upstream aware of how difficult maintaining it can be, given the way they organise it all, and how this is leading us to drop it from our repos. Apologies if you've already tried this. Pete.

I've already talked with upstream a while ago about relying less on internal patched libs/bins and their custom build system. They were strongly opposed to it because they wanted it to work on all systems consistently. Ironically its their system which is making me drop it due to being buggy and unreasonably complicated.

Hi TUs, I would like to rename the package 'wolframe-qtclient-git' to 'wolfclient-git'. Thus can somebody please delete: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/wolframe-qtclient-git/ Thanks in advance. Oh, sorry. I just want to clarify. You may leave a comment on package page if e-mail will be unavailable. Of course contact via e-mail is preferred. -- С уважением, Е.Алексеев. Sincerely yours, E.Alekseev. e-mail: darkarcanis@mail.ru ICQ: 407-398-235 Jabber: arcanis@jabber.ru

No problem. Actually my mistake: I should have contacted the maintainer 'Diego' and not the submitter 'delmonico'. :-) I'll try again.. Thanks Andreas
