[aur-general] -mtune=generic
Hi. This flag was introduced with glibc-2.6 and gcc-4.2 as suggested for devs and tus (http://archlinux.org/news/326/). Is it still needed? Was it a temporary thing that was erroneously introduced in the aforementioned packages or is it a necessary and thus "definitive" flag? Thanks for any clarification. C.

We still use it in official builds, though I'm not sure it's needed anymore because of the --with-cpu=generic switch that we use to compile gcc with.
