It's a moderated list and the normal moderator is on vacation:https://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2013-July/025270.htm...

Continuing the 100% off-topic thread ;) Well, that email just confirmed my feeling that the moderation on arch-general does more harm than good. Is there some other place where I can reach a group equally, or maybe more, knowledgeable in Linux and Arch where I can ask general questions, but without the seemingly arbitrary moderation? /M -- Magnus Therning OpenPGP: 0xAB4DFBA4 email: magnus@therning.org jabber: magnus@therning.org twitter: magthe http://therning.org/magnus I invented the term Object-Oriented, and I can tell you I did not have C++ in mind. -- Alan Kay

Yes. https://bbs.archlinux.org/ It's a little bit noisier, though.

I think it did more good than harm during the systemd protesting.

I would not. Stick to the forums. The level of noise to content ratio in the irc channel is unsufferable most of the time. It is a frat house. Noone enforces focus there, although there is an offtopic channel for idle talk and plain sillyness. Case in point all the juvenile talk going on in there from 17 UTC to 3 UTC while I idled in the channel yesterday.
