I have contacted the maintainer through email in order to fix the
package. They have not responded and it has been more than a week.
They have also not responded to the comments. It would appropriate to
orphan this package so others can maintain and update it.

updates, this is not expected of a `-git` package.
Package is also already flagged out of date but the maintainer hasn't
updated this (and other of his outdated) packages in some time.
