I've contacted current maintainer: 1) via IRC (got no response, the user is idling for a long time; hope they are OK); and 2) via email (both addresses I could find, aur(a)evan.mp and aur(a)micah.mp, do not exist). I've already rewritten the PKGBUILD (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:post-factum/encrypted- dns) and created a systemd service, and I'm ready to adapt all of this for AUR.
