MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for hyde-git [2]: This was only ever labelled as a 'beta' on PyPI; discontinued in 2016. It was a Python 2 based Django static site generator (template filler). Package is seriously broken because of all the missing dependencies. Nothing depends on it, I think it's better to delete. Not even Django itself is available anymore for Python 2 here. MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for sat-xmpp [2]: Broken, orphaned Python 2 based desktop XMPP/Jabber chat client. Discontinued years ago, its website now only offers its successor application called Libervia. This package has last been updated in 2017 and it is now broken quite beyond repair. Not just because of the dozens of deleted Python 2 dependencies, but also because among them, some are needed for secure communications. These typically interface with binary libraries like SSL or SSH. Several of those deprecated Python 2 bindings are now uncompilable and/or unusable with current system libraries. MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for python2-geventhttpclient [2]: I think this legacy Python 2 module can be deleted. Currently on v1.3.1 from 2016. There were some newer updates for Python 2, but SSL support seems to have remained broken for a long time, and I guess downstream projects were forced to migrate to Python 3. Arch has dropped Mozilla's python2-certifi in 2019; Mozilla discontinued Python 2 support for its certificates package in 2020. Therefore it seems this could no longer be used securely. And anyway, it is broken because of the missing dependencies and I think at this point in time it is not worth any further effort. Safe to delete as nothing on AUR depends on it. MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for python2-pyvo [2]: I suggest to delete this. Does not support Python 2 since Sep 2019; it is seriously broken on Arch/AUR, because of the missing python2-astropy (astronomy package) and because the required python2-h5py binary / C API binding to the hdf5 scientific data format library also does not support Python 2 since 2019 and cannot compile its bridge libraries against the current hdf5. Safe to delete as nothing depends on it. Users are advised to use Python 3 version (available on AUR) or try to install with matching dependencies from PyPI or Anaconda distribution.
