MySQL Shell 8.0.20 was just released and this new version can be built with GCC against Python 3.8 (and 3.7 btw). I have pushed the new AUR package and I guess this request can be closed now. Cheers. On 26/4/20 12:44 am, Frederick Zhang wrote:
I understand that there is a new version (8.0.19) available atm but it doesn't build against Python 3.8. I filed a ticket [1] in their bug tracker and they confirmed the issue however I haven't heard back from them since then.
IIRC it was caused by several new parameters in Python and most of them should be safe to be left empty. Unfortunately I haven't got time to write a patch for it :(
