MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for gconf-gtk2 [2]: Unneeded, unused duplicate of AUR/gconf. (Which is built with gtk3 but provides the exact same gtk version neutral legacy downstream interface.) The gtk2 variant does not offer any advantage over the latter. All Gtk2 based applications can be built and run just fine with gconf (tested at least some 100 gtk2 based AUR packages with that so far). Maybe 10+ years ago gconf-gtk2 allowed people to completely omit gtk3 and newer versions from their systems, but that is a virtual impossibility now for anyone who uses graphical desktop(s) and applications.
