Hi again
@artist, please fix the packages with the provided advices and try to respect his desires while maintaining the xlibre packages
@Muflone, which changes shall I make? Please check and correct or remove where needed:
- Update the 6 xlibre-xserver* packages to version 25.0.0.9 which we released half an hour ago.
- Rename the 6 xlibre-server* packages to xlibre-xserver* using the create/merge procedure. For these the conflicts array will have to be expanded with the xlibre-server package name.
- I'm quite unsure about the 'provides=xorg-server' addition. These should not be done yet, correct?
I believe you could do all the three changes, including the provides change. As I explained before, *provides* is not for keeping the compatibility but for defining a package provides the indicated softwares, so XLibre provides a Xorg server, while not being the original Xorg server but a new implementation, not fully compatible with older parts. Of course, as a maintainer you might want to inform your user to replace all the needing parts, like xf86-* and everything else you knows better than me. Try to avoid your users to yell at you because the new package broke anything and they didn't have a clue. Regards -- Muflone
