MarsSeed [1] filed a request to merge gtk3-no_deadkeys_underline [2] into gtk3-classic [3]: I propose this package merge, as 'gtk3-classic' is a community- maintained, GitHub CI-tested modded fork of gtk3, and it includes the no_deadkeys_underline patch, as well as others which are intended to undo upstream's anti-traditional-desktop changes. [a] It gets promptly updated whenever there's a new upstream change, like yesterday's version bump from 3.24.38 to 3.24.39. The latter is also built without the unnecessary 'tracker3' dependency. I think users would definitely benefit from having a streamlined experience instead of being offered the choice of piecemeal gtk3 forks on AUR. gtk3-classic's upstream also has an issue tracker where users can submit suggestions, feature requests and bugs. PR's are also welcome. I've been using gtk3-classic for more than a year now and it is a smooth experience for me on KDE Plasma desktop. Note: there's also a variant of gtk3-classic tailored for the Xfce desktop: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gtk3-classic-xfce [a]: https://github.com/lah7/gtk3-classic [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/gtk3-no_deadkeys_underline/ [3] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/gtk3-classic/
