Hi MarsSeed, thanks for letting me know about the unavailable source. This was because the source file for version 0.111 had been moved from regular CPAN to BackPAN. I've updated the source URL accordingly so makepkg should now be able to download the file again. The reason why I haven't updated the package yet is because current versions require at least version 2.55 of Getopt::Long. However, the perl package from core, which provides perl-getopt-long, is currently still at 2.54, which is too old. Once the perl package is updated to provide a new enough version of perl-getopt-long, I will also update perl-getopt-long-descriptive. Btw, you don't have to use orphan requests for simple issues like this. Instead, you can simply leave a comment on the package. Actually, if you look at the comment section for perl-getopt-long-desctiptive right now, you'll see that I even left a comment explaining why I'm holding off on the update on the same day the package was originally flagged out-of-date. Needs to be fixed. Source unavailable (404). Flagged out-of-date since 2023-12-26. Many AUR packages depend on this library, and this brokenness makes them unbuildable as well.
