MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for python2-certifi [2]: This is not needed by any packages in AUR. I've uploaded it recently when restoring python2-requests to AUR, only to realized that it is not necessary. Python certifi is only a repackage of Mozilla's CA bundle. The official packaging for Python 2 has been discontinued 2 years ago, thereby this package is not as secure as it should be. But Arch maintainers of Py2 and Py3 packages have come up with a simple patch, applied to dependent packages in their prepare() function, to make the Python module use /etc/ssl/certs/ca- certificates.crt directly, delivered by Arch repo's ca-certificates- utils package. I've applied the same patch to AUR/python2-requests. So please kindly delete this unused package. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/python2-certifi/
