Several years? It had its first release in 4 years just a few weeks ago. And if you read the change log you would see the only two files touched were the readme and a very minor fix in the spec file. None of this is urgent, and I was planning on updating when I got back from vacation.

If the update is that crucial to you, maybe after actually reading the project documentation you try submitting a PR?
