I don't see a reason to orphan this. The current maintainer seems to be responsive to comments about things that need fixing and has recently updated the package. Note that -git packages aslo don't need updating to build the latest version, they recalculate the version string when you build them if that's what you were looking for. Please be more specific in comments first and then in an AUR request if there are issues not being fixed.
