All right, but now that you mention, what is the purpose in having
both oraclejdk6-32[1] and oraclejdk6-64[2] (and the v7 and v8 ones)
on the side of the already-existing jdk6-compat[3] (which should
actually be renamed to jdk6)?
It says they're for "servers" but they use the exact same sources,
and install in the same locations.

He didn't do it that way. He actually made a whole new *deletion
request* for that mail.
You can respond by clicking on the email address next to the name.
That way you don't have to subscribe.
