Hi!
Yo,
We maintain statically linked binaries so that end users do not experience build problems with the project, which we had many. We just today had someone come to Discord and complain the PKGBUILD is not building for them hence the conversion to binaries. We use the strategy of distribution statically linked binaries on macOS too and it's been very successful: the number of reported problems dropped significantly. The next release should also provide binaries for ARM64 for Linux and macOS (the scripts for building them are in place, but we're yet to have a release).
You are free to distribute these as `radicale-cli-bin` or `radicale-bin`, but the `radicale` or `radicale-cli` packages on the AUR should distribute the project as built from source per our guidelines. Please see https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AUR_submission_guidelines#Rules_of_submissi... Cheers,
Wish you all the best — Adam
