Alright, I'll concede. There will be a release eventually. I've closed the deletion request.

Correct. So far we established:

Git package builds on people's PCs from the extension source. This pulls build dependencies, takes time, and is error prone. You seem to prefer it but some people may not like it. Let's respect that.

Non-git package uses the pre-built archives provided by the extension developer as an official way of installing it, see https://github.com/flexagoon/rounded-window-corners?tab=readme-ov-file#from-pre-built-archives. This is faster to install and some people, myself included, prefer it.

There is no EGO release yet but my motivation was to give this community a way of hassle-free installation before the extension developer releases it. Why don't I add something like `pre-release` suffix to the `pkgver` and explain in the package comment that this is a pre-release package?

What is the potential harm this package brings to the community?

Oh, sorry. You're right, 'just pack' does call build before zipping the extension.

Either way, there is no upstream release and it has not been uploaded to EGO yet. It seems the developer is waiting for a new version of Blur My Shell before submitting it as he mentioned here: https://github.com/yilozt/rounded-window-corners/pull/159#issuecomment-2093599987

But "just pack" actually also triggers the whole build. Zipping is just the final step. See "pack: build" in the justfile.

So that's what happens in the git version of the aur package.

The non-git version just pulls the extension authors zip that he built via GitHub actions.

So I'm confused. You wanted to delete the non-git version of the aur package and seem to be confused about what happens in the git version. Maybe you flagged a wrong package?

I still don't see a valid reason to delete any of them. Granted we fix the version you seem to have an issue with.

Greg:

There is no "prebuild". Running 'just pack' only zips the files.

Hi there! I maintain both AUR packages based on https://github.com/flexagoon/rounded-window-corners. The git one builds on your PC and the other uses the pre-build package provided by the extension author. I prefer the pre-build one. Let's not remove it but rather fix the issues you've come across. Can you help fixing the pkgver=12.61c326e, please? I wanted it to reflect the git commit the pre-build was made from.
