MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for clang-git [2]: At the kind and helpful advice of @Foxboron, I am submitting a deletion request instead of a merge (previous, rejected request: PRQ#51509). This package is problematic and should be deleted. Not just because it fails during linking with default makepkg / devtools config, but also because it's a partial duplicate of AUR/llvm-git. The latter already builds and packages clang as well, and has 'clang' in its provides array. The clang executable is part of the 'llvm-project' GitHub monorepository. It does not make sense to build a different version of clang than that of llvm and libs. It would just lead to breakage. AUR/llvm-git is competently maintained and has a better structure (split libs and compiler executables like in repo pkg, and a useful project version based pkgver function). Please delete the broken and useless 'clang-git'. It will allow the maintainers of llvm-git to decide if they want to make a split package for it.
