MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for python-pycrypto [2]: Insecure, deprecated parent fork of PyCryptodome, discontinued since 2013. I've made considerable efforts in communicating with AUR package maintainers whose builds were formerly configured to depend explicitly on python-pycrypto, to update those to use an appropriate continuation fork. Almost all former consumers got successfully migrated during the last month. So the number of AUR dependents got reduced to 2: * python-salt: needs update and requires python-pycryptodomex; * validity-sensors-tools-git: deprecated, unmaintained unofficial fork of python-validity; not updated since 2 years ago. Arch repos carry the continuation forks: python-pycryptodome and python-pycryptodomex. The validity-sensors-tools-git package should work OOB with python- pycryptodome, or if not, a minor packaging patch should make it compatible with the latter. Meanwhile, this pycrypto package is defunct because it is incompatible with Python 3.10: byte-compilation shows a multitude of syntax/import/parameter errors. Therefore I see no reason to keep it on AUR any longer. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/python-pycrypto/
