Yes you can remove. This AUR package was created because a university in Belgium was relying on this particular version for the stats lab courses hence the reason I published this package as a bunch of students were Arch Linux users ;)

+1 for deletion, as this legacy v3 is also not a compatible drop-in replacement for extra repo's current 'r' v4.4.2.
