[aur-requests] [PRQ#36335] Merge Request for scratch-desktop
MarsSeed [1] filed a request to merge scratch-desktop [2] into scratch3-bin [3]: Duplicates target package and does not have a '-bin' suffix, even though it extracts the Electron application from a prebuilt binary Windows installer pack. The scratch2 and scratch3 packages have been on AUR for much longer. So even though the name 'scratch-desktop' sounds nicer, it is confusing on AUR to have a scratch2/3 package as well as a scratch- desktop one. Additionally, Scratch Desktop is not the name of the application. It is referred to by upstream only as "the Scratch app" (app with lowercase). [a] The scratch3 AUR package builds the Electron-based application straight from sources, so it is feasible to have a -bin and non-bin package of this. But as I've said, 'scratch-desktop' is a '-bin' build, so it's better to remove this name and keep only 'scratch3-bin' for the same.
