[aur-requests] [PRQ#11375] Merge Request for aom-git
spider-mario [1] filed a request to merge aom-git [2] into libaom-git [3]: The two packages are almost identical. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/spider-mario/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/aom-git/ [3] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/libaom-git/
Request #11375 has been rejected by Foxboron [1]: We don't really operate with lib* package names. So if anything the libaom-git package should be deleted when they are identical. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/Foxboron/
Thanks for the response. I am not sure that I understand your statement, though: who is “we” and what do you mean by “operate”? Do you mean that AUR packages are never merged into lib* packages? ----- Mail original ----- De: notify@aur.archlinux.org À: aur-requests@archlinux.org Cc: spidermario@free.fr, "arch aur" <arch_aur@ts.tzou.me> Envoyé: Lundi 11 Juin 2018 12:56:18 Objet: [PRQ#11375] Request Rejected Request #11375 has been rejected by Foxboron [1]: We don't really operate with lib* package names. "we" == Arch Linux, as represented in this case by a Trusted User. These packages both seem to install both libraries and applications, and Arch doesn't usually split the two anyway... since it's not software which *just* provides a library, it would be more correct to merge both into the "aom-git" name. -- Eli Schwartz Bug Wrangler and Trusted User
