[PRQ#41425] Orphan Request for pcsx2
OpenSauce [1] filed an orphan request for pcsx2 [2]: This package has never been updated since it was submitted, and is now 4 months out of date, which is very outdated for an application with nightly updates [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/OpenSauce/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/pcsx2/

This hasn't been updated because no new stable releases have been made, upstream made up to several git tags a day. Orphan request made the same day it has been flagged OOD for the first time

But currently it also does not sit on a stable release or was my quick look about this wrong? Also it would be interesting to know if upstream ever plans on releasing a full Release since atleast the "Latest Release" on GitHub is from 2020[0]. I think it would be good to document somewhere, which release schedule you follow and maybe give users an option to look themselves. For google-chrome i.e. I wrote a pinned comment[1]. Also ooof, upstream is no fan of the AUR[2] (or really anything that is not their appimage) it seems x) [0] https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/releases/tag/v1.6.0 [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/google-chrome#comment-910450 [2] https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues/7954#issuecomment-1401987537
Hello, This is why it is crucial for a package maintainer to have communication with upstream. The best thing which can be done is the maintainer contacts upstream and enquire about stable releases.
