[PRQ#75042] Deletion Request for xlibre-xserver
oech3 [1] filed a deletion request for xlibre-xserver [2]: Duplicate of https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xlibre-server which was submitted 1st [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/oech3/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/xlibre-xserver/
Hello oech3, We'll try to explain why we from the upstream Xlibre team are requesting you to close this deletion request for xlibre-xserver: The xlibre-server package from https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xlibre-server has multiples problems: 1. The package name is incorrect, as the correct name is xlibre-xserver. 2. The way it is packaged causes problems, which has been pointed out repeatedly to the maintainer eg. in https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xlibre-server#comment-1034796, and this person is not willing to correct these as suggested by this Xlibre developer. That causes problems for the Xlibre AUR users, and also harms the upstream Xlibre project. Because of this it is unfortunately not even possible to merge both packages. Thank you in advance. Regards, The Xlibre team. On 8/2/25 18:25, notify@aur.archlinux.org wrote:
