Conflicting with official firefox-dev package. By the way, there is no more firefox-beta packages produced by Mozilla itself.

I can go on mozilla's website [1] and download a binary tarball for Firefox Beta, with different branding and default settings. It also starts with the default profile by default (and not its own "dev" profile) That said, their release timeline [2] seems to indicate that both editions are based on the same branch. However the Beta channel skips the first beta releases for stability reasons.
