[PRQ#64684] Orphan Request for asoundconf
MarsSeed [1] filed an orphan request for asoundconf [2]: Build is still broken, as reported by @jacanchaplais in comment on 2024-02-28. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/asoundconf/
Please remove this "Ophan Request" from asoundconf & in the future contact a package maintainer before submitting any such request. Also, I have been able to build this package fine on numerous Arch Linux systems. Furthermore, as seen on AUR: "By submitting an orphan request, you ask a Package Maintainer to disown the package base. Please only do this if the package needs maintainer action, the maintainer is MIA and you already tried to contact the maintainer previously." An "Orphan Request" should only be submitted if all of the actions have already been taken by the submitter, which in this case NONE of them were. The following truths regarding this "Orphan Request" for the asoundconf package needs to be disclosed to the mailing list: (1) Today the PKGBUILD was updated to add 'python-setuptools' to makedepends to resolve the issue that @jacanchaplais was experiencing. so the package does NOT need any further maintainer action. (2) I have NOT been MIA and (3) As of today, October 30, 2024, I have NOT been contacted by either @MarsSeed or @jacanchaplais regarding any recent issues with the asoundconf package. Hi @jahway603, You have been contacted by @jacanchaplais in AUR comment on 2024-02-28, and you didn't take action. Hence, the orphan request was warranted. But thank you for reaching out now, and for updating the package with the fix! I am revoking this orphan request. Regards, MarsSeed
Request #64684 has been Rejected by MarsSeed [1]: Maintainer has updated and fixed the package - thank you! [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/
