MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for maptiler-oss [2]: This Python2 based application has been broken since at least 2 years ago (2021-07), when Arch shipped gdal 3.3.0. As that version dropped Python2 support. The recently uploaded python2-gdal AUR package is useless, as there is no corresponding gdal legacy build. Fellow AUR user @hexd maintains lots of legacy python2 packages like NumPy and ScyPy, and many others for scientific use. He said he tried to build GDAL for Python2 but it resulted in lots of segfaults, so he deemed this effort doomed despite his expertise. This package has not been updated since 2019.
