[PRQ#42539] Deletion Request for nvidia-pf
MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for nvidia-pf [2]: Unmaintained since 2021. But this abandoned package should not be needed. Extra repo carries the latest nvidia-dkms and nvidia-open-dkms; any of those should be just as well installable for the linux-pf kernel via dkms. And it is even better and more reliable for users, as the maintainer of linux-pf and nvidia-pf updated the former but abandoned the kernel modules. If users use the dkms modules, all their modules will be repackaged upon linux-pf kernel update via pacman hooks. Request #42539 has been Rejected by MarsSeed [1]: Closing this request as package owner @Thaodan has updated it. @Thaodan, I still uphold my now-informal recommendation though, for you to delete this package. Before I flagged this, it had been out-of-date for 2 years and no user gave any feedback about it. Which leads me to conclude that no one uses this package. As I've said, users can use a dkms package and it is their best and most reliable and flexible option. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/
Don't flag packages out of date that are not out of date.
Unflagged. Please resolve the newly created packaging issues mentioned in my AUR page comment. On 23 June 2023 12:51:23 GMT+02:00, "Björn Bidar" <bjorn.bidar@thaodan.de> wrote:
