[PRQ#71671] Orphan Request for dnsviz-git
MarsSeed [1] filed an orphan request for dnsviz-git [2]: Fails to build since Apr 2024 (Python 3.12) due to missing makedepends=python-setuptools. Flagged for this since 2025-01-13. Was last maintained in 2019. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/ [2] https://aur.archlinux.org/pkgbase/dnsviz-git/

Hi! I've asked tkrizek to add you as co-maintainer. FTR dnsviz upstream is currently incompatible with dnspython, see https://github.com/dnsviz/dnsviz/issues/161 (It has been like that for a longer time.) so if you want to make it work now you will need to patch it. HTH. -- Petr Špaček

Hi!
I've asked tkrizek to add you as co-maintainer.

FTR offer of co-maintainership was declined by MarsSeed. I or my co-maintainer will deal with it once upstream fixes compatibility issues with dnspython. -- Petr Špaček
Request #71671 has been Rejected by MarsSeed [1]: Closing this request, as co-maintainer Petr Špaček (@pspace) has sent feedback to me in email, as well as to all AUR users as a package comment, about the current state of the package - thank you! There is a need for upstream to resolve a current incompatibility with the latest version of one of the dependencies. Petr, thank you for offering and facilitating my becoming a co- maintainer. Unfortunately I cannot accept this responsibility. I have personal family duties that constrict not just my free time per se, but moreso my chances to concentrate on any kind of more than superficial involvement in Arch-related (or any other) IT matters nowadays. Thank you for your continued efforts you put forth for the benefit of this community. Keep up this good work! Marcell Meszaros / MarsSeed [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/account/MarsSeed/
