I was on vacation and focusing on other things over the past 2 weeks. I have updated the package with the suggestions from oech3 in the comments and I made him a co-maintainer to alleviate any concerns that this package will be "unmaintained".

Feel free to orphan me from the package if this would appear to be the best approach forward.

Build stty binary just panics and aborts, and replace core of system by the broken one. I sent a PR with a workaround to maintainer's repo 1 week ago+. But no resopnse. Maintainer seems inactive even for other packages.
